What To Think

I am in no way trying to tell you what to think. I will tell how others have changed their way of thinking that has changed their lives. A lot of people turned a deaf ear to anyone that talks about positive thinking. Even though the evidence of many people who have started to change their way of thinking have had life-changing results.

I personally like to think of positive thoughts. It gives me so many benefits. For one I do not get sick as often as other members of my family. For another, it keeps me in good spirits which uplifts the spirits of others around me. It gives me peace of mind knowing that there is a Higher Source that takes care of not only me but everything else on this planet. When I look at up in the shy and see the birds in flight. When I see all the animals running around and playing with each other. When I look at the trees and plants all around me. I can not help but be thankful for a loving Higher Source.

I can not help but have positive thoughts when I hear that still small voice well up inside me and always has encouraging words to share with me. That even though many may say that this is just my own imagination. That does not matter to me because I would rather live with what some may consider my imagination then the negative thoughts of the world. I learned not to worry about the things of this world that I really have no way of changing anyway. I love to know that even though at times that it does not appear so, good will always prevail.

Philippians 4: 6-9

6Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

8Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think on these things.

The above statements were given by Paul in a letter to the Philippians. I included verse 6 and verse 7 because I noticed something about when you make your request to the Higher Source. It states “with thanksgiving.” Thanksgiving is past tense. That is stating that it has already happened. Then it goes on to tell how it will happen. By guarding you though your heart and mind. I know it says in Christ Jesus but to me, that is just another way of saying though the Spirit of the Higher Source. Or in my case the still small voice inside.

Now in verse 8 Paul tells the Philippians what thoughts his followers should have. Which is basically the same thing that all the teachers of positive thinking are teaching. You will find that a lot of the teachings others are offering as new age teachings are based on the bible. I will take the truth anywhere I can find it.

There are many other examples I could offer here but the truth of the matter is others have written complete books on this subject. Such as “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill, “What To Say When You Talk To Yourself “ by Shad Helmstetter and “The Power Of Positive Thinking” by Norman Vincent Peale just to name a few.
